Cow in Mario Kart World Eats Burgers, Steak
In the midst of all the usual buzz about tariffs and Nintendo Switch 2 pricing, IGN brought us a delightful reprieve by diving into the world of Mario Kart World at a recent Nintendo event in New York. The highlight? The new playable character, the Moo Moo Meadows Cow, and her surprising culinary choices.
For those who might be out of the loop, Mario Kart World recently introduced the Moo Moo Meadows Cow as a racer, much to the delight of fans everywhere. The internet has been buzzing with memes and fanart celebrating this once-background character's rise to prominence. However, a peculiar detail caught fans' attention: in the Nintendo Direct 2 trailer, Mario was seen eating a burger. This led to a burning question—could Cow, whose kind are typically associated with beef, eat a burger herself?
At the Nintendo preview event, IGN confirmed that Cow can indeed indulge in a variety of foods available at Yoshi's diner locations across the game's courses. These drive-thru-style diners offer take-out bags that function similarly to item boxes, containing a range of items including burgers, steak kebabs, pizza, and donuts. And yes, Cow can eat them all.

During the session, Cow was seen consuming various items, including the much-discussed burger. While other racers change costumes upon eating these foods, Cow doesn't seem to undergo any transformations. This raises intriguing questions: Is Cow eating beef simply because she enjoys it? Is there a hidden power-up tied to her burger consumption that Nintendo hasn't yet revealed? Or are these perhaps veggie burgers and Beyond meat kebabs?
IGN reached out to Nintendo for clarification but has yet to receive a response. It's likely due to the busy schedule at their New York event, rather than the absurdity of the inquiry.
