"Conquer Hulao Gate: Dynasty Warriors Origins Strategy"

The Battle of Hulao Gate in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* is not just iconic but a significant challenge that might require multiple attempts. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you navigate and conquer this pivotal mission in Chapter 2.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Battle of Hulao Gate Guide

The Battle of Hulao Gate marks the final stage of Chapter 2 in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*, where your ultimate objective is to defeat Dong Zhuo. Reaching him is no small feat and could be the longest mission you've faced so far.

Start by tackling the four enemy bases located in the bottom right of the map. After capturing two of these, a cutscene will trigger, showcasing a cavalry unit led by Zhang Liao charging down a hill. Don't let this distract you; continue your assault on the bases. Defeating Zhang Liao not only neutralizes this threat but also rewards you with the twin pike weapon, enhancing your arsenal.

With all bases secured, you're ready to assault the Hulao Gate, leading to your first major confrontation with Dong Zhuo's forces. This battle can be chaotic, but your primary focus should be protecting Cao Cao until he can execute his Grand Tactic. Once Cao Cao's strategy is in play, many of the enemy defenses will crumble, paving the way for a deeper push towards Hulao Gate.

Lu Bu Appears

As you press forward, Dong Zhuo will deploy Lu Bu to the frontline. Avoid engaging Lu Bu directly at all costs; a one-on-one fight with him will almost certainly lead to your defeat. Instead, focus on eliminating enemy officers on the outskirts to maintain your morale, which Lu Bu's presence severely impacts.

Lu Bu will eventually move to attack your main base, targeting Yuan Shao. Resist the urge to chase him. Remember the golden rule of *Dynasty Warriors*—never pursue Lu Bu. Liu Bei and his forces will attempt to stall Lu Bu, giving you the crucial time needed to focus on defeating Dong Zhuo. This scenario creates a time-sensitive challenge; Liu Bei's forces won't hold Lu Bu indefinitely. When the game notifies you of their retreat, ensure you're close to finishing off Dong Zhuo, or Lu Bu will end the mission by defeating Yuan Shao.

Go After Dong Zhuo

After Lu Bu departs, if you need to replenish your health with meat buns, quickly visit any of the conquered bases. Then, return to the gate. While Cao Cao readies his charge, you should capture the bases to the north and west. Once all three squads are prepared to attack Dong Zhuo and you're fully healed, enter the closest commander's circle and launch your assault.

You'll face a massive army, and Dong Zhuo will initiate his Grand Tactic, bombarding you with fireballs. Your immediate goal is to destroy the front two catapults. If available, use Musou Rage to break through the lines of soldiers blocking your path to the catapults. Clear the soldiers and officers around them, allowing your forces to demolish the catapults and end Dong Zhuo's tactic.

Dong Zhuo will soon launch another fireball attack, requiring you to defeat one of his officers to stop it. Take the right stairs to confront the officer, but be ready for an ambush by Diaochan, who has joined Dong Zhuo. If possible, duel her; defeating her first will make the subsequent fight easier.

With both Grand Tactics thwarted, the path to Dong Zhuo should be clear. Your forces, bolstered by high morale and potentially aided by Dian Wei's Grand Tactic, should be able to overpower Dong Zhuo's remaining troops without much difficulty. Opt for a straightforward approach to defeat Dong Zhuo rather than engaging in a duel, as by this point, he and his forces will be significantly weakened.

Successfully completing the Battle of Hulao Gate in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* not only advances the storyline but also provides a thrilling sense of accomplishment. *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, allowing you to experience this epic battle across multiple platforms.
