The director of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has expressed openness to a potential release on the upcoming Switch 2, describing it as "could be interesting." This statement comes in the wake of the game's successful launch, and it reflects the studio's ongoing discussions about future opportunities.

Says It "Could Be Interesting"

The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has led developer Sandfall Interactive to consider a port to the Switch 2. In an interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio’s plans following their impressive launch.

Broche highlighted that the game's success "changes everything," prompting the team to evaluate their next steps. He stated, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."

When queried about a possible Switch 2 release, Broche indicated that the studio is exploring various opportunities. He explained, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."

With the anticipated launch of the Switch 2, it would be fitting for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33—one of the top-rated games of the year—to be available on this new handheld console. Fans will need to stay tuned to see if they can experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest device.

No Official Merchandise…Yet!

Amidst the flurry of opportunities, Sandfall Interactive has also received requests for official merchandise, particularly for an Esquie plush. Currently, the studio has not released any official merchandise for the game and has cautioned fans about fake products circulating online. In a Twitter (X) post on May 14, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

They further warned that many of these counterfeit items feature AI-generated artwork, which Sandfall strongly advises against purchasing, as they could also be scams. However, they are actively exploring the possibility of creating official Esquie plushies.

The post continues, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
