Assassins Creed Shadows Combat and Progression Unveiled
Ubisoft has unveiled new details about the combat and progression systems in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Game director Charles Benoit shed light on character development, loot distribution, and weapon variety.
The game boasts a dual progression system: mastery points and knowledge points. Mastery points are earned through leveling up and defeating challenging enemies, while knowledge points are acquired by completing missions and discovering hidden items. These points unlock new abilities and enhance weapons.
Each weapon features its own unique upgrade tree, enabling players to craft personalized builds. Players enjoy the freedom to reset their progress, experimenting with different strategies and weapon combinations. Each weapon provides unique bonuses, catering to specific combat scenarios. For instance, legendary weapons like the naginata offer counters to otherwise undefeatable attacks, providing a tactical edge unavailable with other weapons.
Assassin's Creed Shadows' combat system supports stealth takedowns but actively encourages diverse combat approaches. As characters grow stronger, additional stat upgrades unlock, further refining player skills. The developers emphasize that mastering all techniques and upgrades will require considerable playtime.
Assassin's Creed Shadows launches March 20th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players can anticipate a deep and engaging experience blending stealth, action-packed combat, and strategic progression.
