Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is a thrilling journey that challenges players with an array of formidable bosses, each designed to enhance your understanding of the game's mechanics as you progress. Although the game may not be as extensive as other RPGs, it offers a rich variety of boss encounters that keep the gameplay engaging and rewarding.

For newcomers, mastering the game's initial stages might require some guidance, but facing Gyalva, Lord of the Blazing Prison, demands a solid grasp of combat techniques, abilities, and the game’s mechanics.

How to Beat Gyalva in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss

  • Boss Health: 1200 (Normal Difficulty)

After defeating Guilen, The Fire Eater, players will navigate through the Zone of Lava to confront their next challenging boss, Gyalva. The key to simplifying this battle is to position yourself at one of the two ends of the bridge.

Unlike previous encounters, your movement is severely restricted here, with the bridge's platforms constantly being disrupted by Gyalva. To effectively combat Gyalva, players must frequently leap towards the boss and utilize wind magic to inflict maximum damage in the shortest possible time.

Overcoming bosses in the Ys franchise, a hallmark of Nihon Falcom’s catalog, offers a deeply satisfying experience.

Gyalva’s List of Attacks in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, a remake of Ys 3, continues the franchise’s epic narrative, introducing Gyalva as a new boss not seen in the original game. Gyalva employs several formidable attacks that can quickly deplete the player's health if not handled carefully. The battle takes place on a bridge, where Gyalva flies around, often dislodging parts of the bridge with its fiery assaults.

To prepare for this encounter, it's advisable to upgrade Adol significantly. Aim to reach at least Level 21 and enhance your gear, which can be achieved by engaging with every minor enemy along your path.

Spinning Attacks

Gyalva utilizes two types of spinning attacks. The first involves passing over a section of the bridge, causing the plates to spin into the air. The second sees Gyalva flying over the entire bridge in a straight line, flipping the plates as it goes. Both can be devastating to an underleveled player.

To dodge the first attack, quickly move to the side of the affected area. For the second, the safest spots are the ledges at either end of the bridge. Staying close to one side allows for quick access to these safe zones.

Avoid lingering at the bridge's very end to prevent being cornered. Instead, maneuver around the bridge to attack Gyalva and then retreat to the nearest ledge.

Fire Blast

Gyalva launches a fireball onto the bridge, causing the plates to surge upward. While this can harm you, it also presents an opportunity to land multiple hits on Gyalva.

Bursting Torches

Torches lining the bridge periodically emit bursts of flames, with fireballs passing between them. These can damage players unpredictably, but once a burst subsides, it's safe to traverse the area.
