Yakuza / Like a Dragon Fans Choosing Upcoming Official Merch, From Cult Clothes, Traffic Cones, and More Bizarre Items

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans choose the next official merchandise items! A whopping 100 options are available for voting on the official (Japanese-language) website, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years.

As reported by Automaton, the choices range from the expected (like a 20th-anniversary hoodie or pencil case) to the utterly bizarre, drawing heavily on the series' famously outlandish history.

Fans can vote on items such as Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, Majima's oversized traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other options include Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.

The studio is already planning at least one release for the 20th anniversary year of 2025: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launching February 21st. While a second major release remains unannounced, it's not out of the realm of possibility given RGG Studio's prolific output. In the past five years alone, they've released nine games, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball titles, plus an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5.
