Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The event, first launched in January 2023, follows a consistent January release schedule. This year's showcase begins at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.

Confirmed Games:

The showcase will feature a trio of anticipated titles:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
  • Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was initially announced in June 2024, with a demo playable at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently rumored.
  • South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), known for Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is still pending.

Beyond the Confirmed Titles:

While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional unannounced games are likely to be revealed during the January 23rd broadcast.
