WoW: Midnight Unveils Flexible Housing Options
Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the upcoming in-game housing system in World of Warcraft: Midnight. Although the expansion is set to launch post-The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, the early previews have sparked significant excitement due to the extensive customization options it promises.
A recent developer blog showcased in-game footage demonstrating the mechanics of furniture placement. The system utilizes a grid for item alignment, featuring an automatic snapping feature that simplifies decoration. Players can also adorn larger items, such as shelves or tables, with smaller accessories that remain attached even when repositioned.
The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy and straightforward organization, and an Advanced Mode tailored for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, users have the freedom to rotate objects on all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, enabling the creation of complex and visually stunning interiors.

A notable feature is the ability to scale objects, allowing for personalized space designs that cater to different character sizes. For example, gnomes might create more intimate, cozy spaces, while larger races like tauren could prefer more expansive layouts. Additionally, new furniture designed specifically for this system will support recoloring, although legacy assets might not have this capability.
With the release of Midnight still months away, Blizzard continues to release teasers about upcoming content, keeping the player community engaged and eagerly anticipating the game’s future developments.
