Witcher 4 Creators Support Blood of Dawnwalker Authors, No Competition with Rebel Wolves
Gamers have started noticing striking similarities between The Blood of Dawnwalker and The Witcher 4, particularly in ambiance and style, given that The Blood of Dawnwalker was created by former CD Projekt Red (CDPR) staff members. Following the release of the first trailer, fans have been actively debating which game might prove more successful. However, both the developers and their former colleagues argue that such comparisons are unwarranted.
One X user expressed their view, saying, "Dawnwalker looks amazing, just like The Witcher 4. Both works can exist together. One game doesn't mean the other is dead. It's not a competition. Let's show respect."
Patrick K. Mills, who contributed to missions in The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, joined the discussion, emphasizing the absence of rivalry between the teams. He stated, "Anyone who tries to compare these games is doing the devil's work. The teams have a long history together, we hang out together, we play games together, our group chats are full of praise for each team. There's nothing but love here. The culture war will remain a culture war, but these games share a common origin and common values."
Philippe Weber, the narrative director for The Witcher 4, also commented on the visual similarities between the trailers of the two games. He mentioned, "Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and I were joking today about how the eyes in the dark in our two trailers were used as references to the TV series Midnight Mass to sell the idea early on. Many of the creators of the two games are friends, and we love seeing our friends succeed!"
Rebel Wolves, the developers behind The Blood of Dawnwalker, have set an ambitious goal to create a new series of games that can stand toe-to-toe with renowned franchises. Judging by the first trailer, The Blood of Dawnwalker shows promise of becoming an equally impressive project as those from CDPR.
