Looking back on the past year is easier than ever with the help of various apps. Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature offers a fun and convenient way to revisit your 2024 memories.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike similar year-end recaps from platforms like Spotify or Twitch, Snap Recap doesn't focus on detailed statistics. Instead, it curates a slideshow of Snaps, typically selecting one representative snap from each month of the year. This creates a visual journey through your 2024 on Snapchat. The recap seamlessly integrates with the Memories feature, allowing you to further explore past Snaps from the same dates in previous years.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your Snap Recap is straightforward. From the main Snapchat camera screen:

1. Swipe up: This action opens the Memories feature. Avoid pressing the shutter button.
2. Locate the Recap: Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video within the Memories menu.

3. Tap to View: Tap the recap video (avoiding the share icon) to begin playback. The recap automatically scrolls through the selected Snaps. You can tap the screen to advance more quickly.

You can save, edit, or share your Snap Recap via the standard Snap options, including posting it to your Story. Privacy settings remain the same as for other Snaps.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, there are a few reasons:

• Rollout Timing: Snapchat's Recaps are released gradually. Yours may not have been generated yet.
• Snap Usage: The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is created. Infrequent Snapchat use might prevent a recap from being generated.
• No Request Option: Unfortunately, you cannot request a Snap Recap from Snapchat support if it doesn't appear after a reasonable waiting period.
