Vampire Survivors Provides Update on PlayStation Release
Poncle, the UK-based developer behind the hit roguelike Vampire Survivors, has offered a further update on the game's upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 releases. Following the May release of the latest expansion and update, the studio, which launched Vampire Survivors in December 2021, clarified the PlayStation port timeline.
Initially announced for a Summer 2024 launch, Vampire Survivors' PS4 and PS5 versions remain without a precise release date. Poncle, in recent Twitter posts, attributed the delay to the unfamiliarity of navigating PlayStation's submission process – a first for the indie developer. They're also meticulously crafting the PlayStation Trophies experience, aiming to replicate the success of the game's 200+ Steam achievements. This dedication to a polished trophy system reflects the high standards set by the game's overwhelmingly positive Steam reception.

The developer's transparency has been met with gratitude from fans on Twitter, many expressing excitement for the prospect of earning a platinum trophy. This coveted reward, earned by completing all achievements, is highly valued among PlayStation gamers, especially for challenging titles.
The May 9th release of Operation Guns, a DLC inspired by Konami's Contra series, added Contra-themed biomes, 11 characters, 22 automatic weapons, and classic Contra music to the game. A subsequent hotfix, 1.10.105, on May 16th, addressed bugs in both the base game and the new DLC.
