A Secret Romance in Baldur's Gate 3: Finding and Romancing Naoise Nallinto

While many players are familiar with Baldur's Gate 3's prominent romance options, a hidden encounter with Naoise Nallinto at Sharess' Caress often goes unnoticed. This brief romance unfolds during a pivotal moment in the game, making it easy to miss. This guide details how to find Naoise and initiate this unique romantic interaction.

Locating Naoise Nallinto

Act III and Sharess' Caress: The encounter with Naoise occurs in Act III. Travel to Wyrm's Crossing, located on the path to Baldur's Gate. You'll need to visit Sharess' Caress, a brothel east of the bridge leading into Baldur's Gate. If you've already explored Wyrm's Crossing, utilize the South Span of Wyrm's Crossing fast travel point for direct access to Sharess' Caress.

The Nymph's Grotto: Naoise resides in the Nymph's Grotto, a chamber on the second floor. Look for a door with a green light and ivy – it's locked, but easily pickable with a lockpicking skill check of 10 or higher.

Initiating the Romance

Interact with Naoise and Jara: Inside, you'll find Naoise with Jara, a Flaming Heart soldier. Interrupting their private moment will trigger a confrontation. Choose dialogue options carefully; selecting "Whoever you think I am, you're mistaken" is a viable starting point.

Defeat the Mindflayer: Jara will transform into a Mindflayer. Defeat her to proceed.

Engage Naoise: Naoise will then express her interest in Mindflayers, presenting an opportunity for romance. Avoid judgmental responses; instead, try options like "Your client is dead. I thought you'd be more upset." A successful Insight check will reveal her receptiveness to romance.

The Romantic Encounter: Further dialogue options, such as "What did you have in mind?" followed by "Close your eyes and listen," will lead to a unique mental romance scene. Naoise will ask you to choose what you want to be (Revered, Contented, Powerful, Rich, or to end the encounter). The choice influences the scene's outcome.

The Aftermath: This romance is fleeting. Naoise will not be interested in further encounters after this initial interaction. Even if your character is already in a relationship (as in our example with Karlach), this encounter doesn't appear to cause issues with other companions. Shadowheart will reward you with the "Carnal Rituals of Sharess" inspiration point. The encounter grants the "Rapture" boon, providing a passive +1d6 to various ability checks.

This unique encounter offers a different kind of romance within Baldur's Gate 3, adding another layer to the game's rich tapestry of relationships.
