Thomas Waterzooi Unveils New Art-Based Game Please, Watch The Artwork for Mobile

Author : Joseph Jun 16,2025

Thomas Waterzooi, the creative mind behind immersive art-inspired puzzle experiences, is back with a fresh and unconventional concept. His latest project, *Please, Watch The Artwork*, flips the script on interactivity by asking players not to touch—but to observe. This new mobile title was officially revealed during the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025 and is set to arrive on Android and iOS platforms soon.

The game follows the success of *Please, Touch The Artwork* (launched in 2022) and its sequel released early in 2024. Known for their unique blend of art appreciation and gameplay, these titles explored interactive museum exhibits through a playful lens. Now, *Please, Watch The Artwork* takes a more introspective and unsettling direction—blending psychological tension with artistic immersion.

Importantly, this spin-off does not replace the long-awaited *Please, Touch The Artwork 3*, which Waterzooi has confirmed remains in active development. Fans can still look forward to that continuation while exploring this eerie new entry in the series. [ttpp]

A Quietly Disturbing Experience

At its heart, *Please, Watch The Artwork* is a spot-the-difference game like no other. You take on the role of a nightwatch at the fictional MaMA—Museum of Animated Modern Art. Your task is simple yet unnerving: monitor surveillance feeds displaying animated versions of classic paintings, many of which subtly shift and change over time.

You must detect the differences between frames and report them before the creeping sense of dread overwhelms you. Drawing heavy inspiration from the works of American realist painter Edward Hopper, the game reimagines over 40 of his iconic pieces across six thematic galleries.

Expect haunting visuals such as empty diners lit by flickering neon, lonely bedrooms bathed in moonlight, and silent city streets cloaked in shadow. These scenes loop and evolve, creating an illusion of life within the canvas. There’s no musical score—only ambient sounds unique to each scene. Even the audio becomes part of the mystery, with subtle anomalies adding to the tension.

Platform Availability and Release Date

*Please, Watch The Artwork* will be available on multiple platforms including Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch. While an exact release date hasn’t been announced, an October launch window has been teased. The announcement trailer, narrated in a soft ASMR voiceover by Waterzooi himself, adds to the surreal and atmospheric tone of the experience.
