T-1000 and Madam Bo join Mortal Kombat 1 roster

NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the first gameplay footage of DLC guest character T-1000 while confirming Madam Bo as a new Kameo fighter for Mortal Kombat 1. These additions bring fresh excitement to the brutal fighting game's roster.

T-1000 Brings Liquid Metal Mayhem

The T-1000 showcase reveals several attacks inspired by Terminator 2, including the iconic blade and hook arm transformations. The moveset blends elements from Baraka and Kabal's fighting styles, with a standout liquid metal uppercut that recalls Killer Instinct's Glacius.

Robert Patrick reprises his seminal role, providing both voice and likeness for the character. The reveal trailer features his first in-game dialogue during a clash with Johnny Cage, culminating in a brutal Fatality that recreates the famous truck chase sequence from the 1991 film.

Fan-Favorite Madam Bo Joins as Kameo

In a surprise announcement, NetherRealm confirmed Madam Bo will debut as a Kameo fighter alongside the T-1000. The beloved restaurant owner from MK1's story mode makes her playable debut, briefly appearing in the trailer during an assist attack.

Madam Bo enters the fight as a Kameo character

The T-1000 arrives on March 18 for Khaos Reigns expansion owners, with general availability starting March 25. Madam Bo releases simultaneously as a free update for expansion owners or as a separate purchase.

Future of the Franchise

As the final Khaos Reigns DLC character, the T-1000 concludes the expansion's roster that included Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Fans speculate about potential Kombat Pack 3 content, though Warner Bros. Discovery remains committed to the franchise as one of its four core gaming properties.

NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon previously confirmed long-term support for MK1 while hinting at future Injustice developments. The studio's shift to Unreal Engine 4 and pandemic challenges influenced their decision to continue with Mortal Kombat rather than alternating with DC's Injustice series as originally planned.

"We absolutely haven't closed the door on Injustice," Boon assured during a 2023 interview, leaving possibilities open for the DC fighting game franchise's return.
