System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Renamed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Also Coming to Nintendo Switch
Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG, initially titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is getting a name change and a new platform. Now dubbed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, it's set to launch on Nintendo Switch, alongside its previously announced releases.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryosleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, amidst a catastrophic event. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots prowl the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel. SHODAN, a malevolent AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the horrifying fate of its crew and unraveling a gripping narrative.
Nightdive Studios promises a new trailer and the official release date will be revealed during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
