Switch Between You And Your Shadow To Defeat Enemies In New Retro-Style Platformer Shadow Trick
Neutronized's Shadow Trick: A Charming Retro Platformer
Neutronized, the studio behind this year's Shovel Pirate and other titles like Slime Labs 3, Super Cat Tales, and Yokai Dungeon: Monster Games, has released a new free-to-play platformer: Shadow Trick. True to Neutronized's style, it's short, sweet, and simple, boasting charming 16-bit pixel art and a retro aesthetic.
Shadow Trick Gameplay:
As the title suggests, you play a wizard capable of transforming into a shadow to solve puzzles. This core mechanic involves switching between your physical and shadow forms to navigate obstacles, avoid traps, and outsmart enemies within a magical castle.
The game features 24 levels, each containing three hidden moon crystals. Collecting all 72 crystals is crucial for unlocking the complete ending. This won't be easy; expect challenging boss encounters, some of which employ deceptive tactics (like the disappearing red ghost!).
The environments are diverse, ranging from standard platforming sections to aquatic levels where you must navigate as a shadow, facing off against unusual aquatic bosses.
Worth a Look?
Shadow Trick offers appealing visuals, particularly for fans of retro pixel art. The environments are well-designed, and the chiptune soundtrack adds to the game's charm. If this sounds appealing, download it from the Google Play Store.
