Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update

Stellar Blade's latest update, 1.009, brings the highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, but unfortunately, also introduces some critical bugs.

Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix

The update has caused several game-breaking issues. Players report being softlocked in a main quest within an earlier dungeon, crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie camera, and cosmetic items not rendering correctly. Developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix patch to address these problems. They advise players to avoid forcing quest progression and wait for the patch to prevent permanent softlocks.

NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements

The 1.009 update includes a significant addition: a collaboration with NieR: Automata! Eleven exclusive items are available by interacting with Emil, the NieR character who has joined the Stellar Blade world. This collaboration, according to the developers, is a testament to the mutual respect and creative synergy between the directors of both games.

The much-requested Photo Mode has finally arrived, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. To complement Photo Mode, four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) modifying Tachy Mode have been added. Players can also now choose to disable Eve's ponytail. Additional improvements include lip-sync support for six languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
