Starship Warbeasts: Sci-Fi Card Game with JRPG PVP

Deploy Starship, a new game studio, is currently developing its debut title: Starship Warbeasts, a sci-fi card game. This free-to-play multiplayer experience will launch on PC and mobile devices.

What Makes the Sci-Fi Card Game Starship Warbeasts Unique?

This trading card game takes inspiration from genre leaders like Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering, but introduces a fresh take on combat mechanics. Expect level-ups, active combat abilities, and evolving strategies during battles.

Players assume the role of Lumens, space explorers who command Warbeasts. The core gameplay revolves around Warbeast cards, each depicting a distinct creature. You'll assemble five-member teams from these cards, with over 75 million possible Warbeast combinations available.

The game features an extensive array of spells, items, and level-up cards that unlock new abilities mid-fight. With vast tactical possibilities, it rewards both thorough preparation and intelligent adaptation during matches.

Its universe spans at least 10 distinct planets, each hosting unique Warbeasts and caught in conflicts over a rare resource. The primary narrative will unfold largely through in-game events.

What Additional Features Can Players Expect?

Beyond deck construction and battles, each of the 10 planets contributes 25 unique Warbeasts to the collectible pool, ranging from colossal beasts to spellcasters and alien lifeforms.

A full campaign mode may also be introduced post-launch. According to Deploy Starship founder Matthew Albright, the team aims to capture the high-energy feel of action cartoons.

Starship Warbeasts will support full crossplay between Steam, Android, and iOS. Targeting a 2026 release, the studio plans to conduct both public and private playtests beforehand.

While a Google Play Store page isn't yet available, you can wishlist the sci-fi card game on Steam. For more gaming news, check out our coverage of Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 Bringing Its Scary 'Safe Haven' to Mobile.
