No Return Mode Enhancements:
Two new characters, Bill and Marlene from The Last of Us Part I, are being added to No Return Mode, each bringing unique playstyles. Bill, with a "Smuggler" playstyle, can access a custom pump shotgun from dead drops and benefits from double rewards. He's stronger against melee but can't dodge. Marlene, on the other hand, adopts a "Risk Taker" approach, featuring a Custom Assault Rifle, "All or Nothing" gambits, and the ability to reroute her path once per run.

Additionally, four new maps are set to enhance No Return Mode:
- Overlook: Set high above Seattle with vertical gameplay, reminiscent of a Seraphites encounter.
- School: An abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina faced the W.L.F. in the campaign.
- Streets: Located in the overgrown Seattle neighborhood of Hillcrest.
- Nest: Familiar to players from Abby's Infected-infested building encounter.

The new No Return content, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch via a free 2.0.0 patch.
Regarding PSN sign-in, while it's optional for PC players, logging in grants access to PlayStation overlay and PSN Trophies. As an incentive, signing in with a PSN account also provides 50 in-game points for bonus features and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. This skin will also be unlockable for PS5 players through the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.

Earlier this month, The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann shared insights into the development of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a game in development for four years, set in an alternate historical timeline and focusing on themes of faith and religion.
The PC release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered comes just before Season 2 of HBO's successful TV adaptation, where showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed the return of spores, omitted in the first season.
