Santa Monica Studio Confirms No God of War Remasters in March
In recent days, the online community has been abuzz with rumors suggesting that Santa Monica Studio was poised to unveil a major announcement at an upcoming event marking the 20th anniversary of the iconic God of War series. The speculation hinted at the reveal of classic God of War remasters, a notion that even gained traction from insider and journalist Jeff Grubb, fueling considerable excitement among fans.
In response to the growing anticipation, Santa Monica Studio took the initiative to address these rumors head-on, aiming to manage fan expectations. They released a statement clarifying the purpose of the event:
"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." - Santa Monica Studio
Instead of focusing on new game announcements, the event will offer fans new thematic artwork showcasing Kratos alongside Jörmungandr, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Additionally, attendees can look forward to appearances by actors from the God of War series, including Terrence Carson, who lent his voice to Kratos, and Carole Ruggier, known for voicing Athena. The panel is set to take place on March 22.
