Rainbow Six Siege X Won't Be a New Game, But Will Have Major Updates
Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege X: A Major Update, Not a New Game
Ubisoft recently unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, not as a new game, but as a significant upgrade to the existing Rainbow Six Siege. This announcement, made on February 17th, 2025, precedes the game's 10th anniversary. A dedicated showcase is planned for March 13th, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT in Atlanta, Georgia.
The March showcase promises an immersive experience, bringing together players, creators, and developers to reveal the extensive changes coming with Siege X and other surprises. In-person attendance requires a $10 ticket, including an exclusive shirt and in-game cosmetic pack, and eligibility is limited to legal residents of the USA and Canada, aged 18 or older, with a good standing Rainbow Six Siege account. A VIP package giveaway, including travel and accommodation, is also available for two lucky fans from the USA and Canada.
Siege X boasts "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades," though specifics remain under wraps until the March showcase.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Rainbow Six Siege, initially released December 1st, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (later ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S), will receive a new operator, Aurora (with deployable bulletproof doors), a new elite skin for Aruni, and a revamped reputation system in Season 1, Operation Prep Phase, launching March 4th, 2025.
Given the timing, the major Siege X upgrades will likely be implemented on live servers after the March showcase.
