PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: 12 Teams Remain!

The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), part of the larger Gamers8 event in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been cut in half, leaving 12 contenders vying for a share of the $3 million prize pool.

For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's a Gamers8 spin-off showcasing top esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile is among the featured games, and currently, Alliance leads the pack.

Following this weekend's intense competition, the 12 remaining teams will enjoy a one-week respite before the final stage, scheduled for July 27th and 28th.

Global Impact

While the overall impact of the PUBG Mobile World Cup on the global fanbase remains to be seen, the event has generated significant buzz. However, it's worth noting that despite its name, this isn't the largest event on the PUBG Mobile esports calendar. Other major tournaments are planned for later this year, potentially overshadowing this current competition.

The 12 eliminated teams will have another chance to compete in the Survival Stage on July 23rd and 24th. Two teams will earn their way back into the main event in this high-stakes showdown.
