Get ready to celebrate the New Year in Pokémon GO! The annual New Year's event returns, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, unique Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style.

Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event (featuring returning Community Day Pokémon), the New Year's festivities begin!

This year's highlights include a boosted XP reward: catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn 2,025 XP each! Enjoy festive fireworks and New Year's decorations enhancing your in-game experience.

Expect increased appearances of special Pokémon in the wild, such as a ribbon-adorned Jigglypuff, a New Year's-outfitted Hoothoot, and a party-hat-wearing Wurmple. Keep an eye out for their Shiny forms!

Raids are also festive! One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat Pikachu, while three-star raids star party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three have increased Shiny encounter rates.
