Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!
Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is kicking off the new year with festivities, including the New Year's 2025 event, followed by Fidough Fetch and the Sprigatito Community Day. January also brings the Eggs-pedition Access, a month-long paid event ($4.99) offering numerous bonuses for Pokémon trainers. This includes increased Gift storage (up to 40), daily Gift opening limits (up to 50), and increased Gift acquisition from PokéStops (150).
New Year's 2025 Event Details:
While this year's New Year's event (December 30th, 2024, 10:00 am – January 1st, 2025, 8:00 pm) lacks new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, it still offers plenty of festive fun. Expect increased Shiny rates for wild Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat). Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.
Raids will feature a snowflake-hat Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), with boosted Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
