Pokemon Leak May Reveal Surprising Plan for Generation 10 Games

Leaked information suggests that the upcoming Generation 10 Pokémon games may launch on both the original Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2. While the Switch 2's backward compatibility ensures playability regardless, the leak hints at distinct versions: a primary "Gaia" build for the original Switch and a potentially enhanced "Super Gaia" version for the Switch 2. A similar native Switch 2 release might also be in store for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Initial speculation favored a Switch 2 exclusive release for Generation 10, given the performance issues faced by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on the original Switch. However, this leak contradicts that assumption. The details, stemming from a Game Freak hacker and shared by Centro Leaks, remain unconfirmed.

The Nintendo Switch 2's backward compatibility is a key factor. Owners of the new console will be able to play Generation 10 titles, regardless of whether they receive native ports. While improved performance on the Switch 2 is likely, Nintendo's approach to potential Switch 2 enhancements for these games is unclear.

Official announcements are pending. While a Pokémon Presents event is scheduled for February 27th, it's reportedly focused on original Switch titles, potentially delaying a dedicated Switch 2 Pokémon game for years. Therefore, treat this leaked information as speculative until officially confirmed.
