After months of whispers and leaks, Pokémon Champions has finally emerged from the shadows! This brand-new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game is a collaborative effort between Game Freak and The Pokémon Works, a recent joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA (the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl).

Pokémon Champions puts the spotlight squarely on Pokémon battles, utilizing the series' classic battle system. Players will engage in online battles against each other, showcasing their strategic prowess. The trailer confirmed the return of both Mega Evolution and Terastallization, promising a diverse and exciting range of battle possibilities spanning various Pokémon generations and types.

PlayA key feature is its integration with Pokémon Home, allowing players to import their Pokémon from other games. Finally, those hundreds of Pokémon gathering digital dust in your boxes will have a purpose!

Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, Pokémon Champions lacks a concrete release date. However, we do know that Latin American Spanish will be among the launch languages, in addition to others commonly found in Pokémon games.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the same game that leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the infamous "Freak Leak." This massive data breach revealed a wealth of internal Game Freak information, including unreleased games, meeting notes, and Pokémon designs. While initial speculation suggested a Splatoon-esque experience, the official reveal paints a clearer picture of a competitive Pokémon battle arena.
