While Fields of Mistria is lauded for its well-developed romance options and engaging storylines, the question remains: can you go on official dates with your chosen character? The short answer is currently no, at least not in the traditional sense. However, the existing romance system is incredibly rich and rewarding, easily justifying the game's price point.

The November 2024 update significantly enhanced the romance mechanics. The maximum relationship level increased from four hearts to six, adding new heart events for each romanceable NPC to celebrate relationship milestones. These events, featuring playable cutscenes, unlock at two, four, and six hearts. Future updates are planned to introduce eight- and ten-heart events, though concrete dates are unavailable beyond the March 2025 update (which won't include increased heart levels or new events).

Despite the lack of explicit "dates," the existing content is exceptional. The dialogue is realistic and subtly flirty, allowing for romantic interpretation even in seemingly platonic interactions. The progression feels satisfyingly gradual, deepening the connection with your chosen character.

A significant addition in the last major update was the Shooting Star Festival. This summer event enables players with four hearts to initiate a date-like experience with their chosen romance option. While a stargazing event with Caldarus is currently available, it doesn't trigger a date at the Summit location like other options. This may change with the March 2025 update, which promises to unlock the dragon's romance questline.

In conclusion, while official "dates" aren't yet a feature, Fields of Mistria offers a compelling and deeply engaging romance system. The existing content provides ample romantic interaction to keep players invested until future updates introduce even more.
