The Realmgate is a crucial endgame feature in Path of Exile 2. Unlike standard map nodes accessed via Waystones, the Realmgate offers a unique path to challenging Pinnacle boss encounters. This guide explains its location, usage, and what awaits beyond its portal. Proper preparation is key to maximizing your Realmgate experience.

How to Find the Realmgate in PoE 2

The Realmgate is conveniently located near your mapping phase starting point. The fastest way to find it is by clicking the floating home icon on the mapping screen (image above). This centers your view on the initial mapping location. The Realmgate is situated beside the stone Ziggurat.

If the home icon overlaps with the red skull icon (indicating the Burning Monolith), don't worry; these locations are usually close together. Clicking either icon will help you locate the other.

How to Use the Realmgate in PoE 2

Unlike regular map nodes, Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its purpose is to transport players to challenging Pinnacle boss fights. Currently, four Pinnacle bosses are accessible via the Realmgate:

  • Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300 Breach Splinters to create a Breachstone. Use this Breachstone at the Realmgate to engage Xesht.
  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a Level 79 or higher Logbook (obtained from Expeditions). Speak to Dannig in your Hideout; he'll appear randomly during Expedition maps, alongside Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen, and then permanently reside in your Hideout.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300 Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum, usable at the Realmgate. This initiates a 15-wave Delirium map, best tackled with optimized mapping builds.
  • King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire "An Audience With the King" item through the Ritual Favour system by spending Tribute. Use this item at the Realmgate to access this fight.

Note that the Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal (found at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas, respectively) are not accessed via the Realmgate.

Similarly, the Arbiter or Ash, the ultimate Pinnacle boss, is located within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. Three Citadel keys, obtained through a quest triggered upon your first Burning Monolith encounter, are required to access this fight.
