Path of Exile 2 is still in Early Access, but players are already diving deep into character customization. While not technically subclasses, Ascendancies add a powerful specialization to your chosen class, granting unique abilities and playstyles. This guide will walk you through unlocking and choosing your Ascendancy.
Unlocking Ascendancies in Path of Exile 2
Before you can embrace the power of an Ascendancy, you must complete a special Trial. In Early Access, you can choose between the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas or the Act 3 Trial of Chaos. Completing either for the first time unlocks Ascendancy selection and rewards you with 2 passive Ascendancy Points. Since the Trial of the Sekhemas is earlier in the game, tackling it first allows you to unlock powerful abilities sooner.
