Neverness to Everness is set to hold its first closed beta test, but only in China
Hotta Studios' upcoming open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China.
While international players won't participate in the beta, they can still follow the game's progress. Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, further expanding on the previously revealed city of Eibon (see trailer below). The updates showcase a blend of comedic and serious storytelling, highlighting the unique juxtaposition of the bizarre and ordinary in the game's world, Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the popular Tower of Fantasy), is bringing a fresh take to the 3D open-world RPG genre with Neverness to Everness. One standout feature is the inclusion of open-world driving, allowing players to customize and drive a variety of vehicles—though caution is advised, as collisions can be impactful.
The game faces significant competition upon release. It will contend with titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which have set a high bar for mobile 3D open-world RPGs.
