Netflix Is Dropping The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, a Prequel Game to the Upcoming Movie

Netflix is launching a prequel puzzle game, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, to coincide with the release of its upcoming sci-fi film, The Electric State. This retro-futuristic puzzle adventure will debut on March 18th, just days after the movie's March 14th Netflix premiere.

Directed by the Russo brothers and starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, The Electric State features a post-apocalyptic road trip across a stylized 1990s America. Kid Cosmo, however, offers a unique perspective.

A Prequel, Not a Simple Adaptation

Developed by BUCK Games (creators of the popular Steam title Let's! Revolution!) in collaboration with AGBO, Kid Cosmo serves as a prequel, exploring the childhoods of key characters Chris and Michelle through a layered game-within-a-game structure.

Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the game unfolds over five years, revealing the backstory leading up to the movie's events. Players will embark on puzzle-solving adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series, but with a distinct 80s aesthetic. Gameplay involves collecting modules, repairing Kid Cosmo's ship, and uncovering the mysteries of this unusual world.

Part of Netflix's Growing Gaming Portfolio

The Electric State: Kid Cosmo aligns with Netflix's expanding gaming catalog, which increasingly features interactive spin-offs and companion experiences. This strategy follows the success of titles like Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales and Squid Game: Unleashed.

Netflix subscribers can find Kid Cosmo on the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, stay tuned for our upcoming article on Hello Kitty My Dream Store.
