Mortal Kombat 1: Hara-Kiri Fatalities Datamined
A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered strong evidence suggesting the addition of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, rebranded as Quitalities. Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing these self-inflicted finishers, originally seen in Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004). Intriguingly, the discovered animations include those for recently added DLC characters like Ghostface, fueling speculation of their inclusion in a future update rather than being scrapped. InfiniteNightZ believes this is highly likely, given their presence in the updated character roster.
Further bolstering this theory, the animations are reportedly labeled as "Quitalities" within the game's code—quick finishers triggered by opponent disconnections, a feature present in previous Mortal Kombat titles. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," InfiniteNightZ stated. Prominent dataminer Interloko subsequently discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations, confirming the findings.
While exciting, it's crucial to remember that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games haven't officially announced Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.
The game recently saw a surge in popularity with the addition of a secret fight against Floyd, the pink ninja, and the community's collaborative effort to decipher his unlock requirements. Looking ahead, players anticipate the arrival of the T-1000 guest character and the possibility of further DLC, though confirmation from NetherRealm remains pending.
