Microsoft Is Developing Gears of War Collection Without Multiplayer
Renowned Windows Central editor and insider Jez Corden has confirmed reports that Microsoft is developing a Gears of War collection. Initial rumors suggested the collection would omit the franchise's multiplayer mode, a claim Corden corroborated. While competitive online play will be absent, cooperative gameplay and the main story campaigns will remain.

The official announcement for this Gears of War collection may arrive as early as the upcoming Xbox Showcase in June, according to industry sources. While the exact titles included remain unconfirmed, speculation points towards the first three games in the series.
Development on Gears of War: E-Day, the next major installment, continues using Unreal Engine 5 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Recent leaks hint at a possible 2024 release, but Corden believes a 2026 launch is more likely.
