NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch content roadmap for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. Creative Director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview with Metro that each three-month season will be divided into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This translates to at least one new hero every month and a half. Beyond new heroes, each season will also feature fresh storylines and maps.

"Every season will bring new seasonal stories, maps, and heroes. We're splitting each season in half," Chen stated. "A season is three months, and each half will introduce a new hero. Our goal is to continuously enhance the experience and keep the community engaged."

The first season, "Eternal Night Falls," already showcased this plan, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. Maintaining this pace with iconic Marvel characters will be a significant undertaking.

Marvel Rivals boasts a strong initial roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, numerous other Marvel characters are anticipated, with Blade rumored for Season 2 and fan hopes high for appearances from Daredevil, Deadpool, and more X-Men. NetEase's commitment to ongoing updates, including balance changes and gameplay adjustments (as detailed in previous updates and articles on balance changes, gameplay tweaks, Invisible Woman's use against bots, the Hero Hot List, and the use of mods), suggests a continued focus on expanding the game's content and maintaining its momentum. The game's current success fuels confidence in this ambitious plan.
