Bloober Team, the studio behind the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake, recently revealed a fascinating concept: a Lord of the Rings survival horror game. During a Bonfire Conversations podcast, game director Mateusz Lenart shared that the team explored this dark, Middle-earth-set project.

Unfortunately, securing the rights to the franchise proved impossible, leaving the concept unrealized. However, fans expressed significant enthusiasm for the idea, believing Tolkien's rich lore provides ample material for a terrifying survival horror experience. The potential for chilling encounters with creatures like the Nazgûl or Gollum is particularly compelling.

Currently, Bloober Team is concentrating on its new project, Cronos: The New Dawn, and potential future collaborations with Konami on Silent Hill titles.
