Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – version 1.2. This patch brings two exciting new features to the game: seamless mod integration through Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system.

The Steam Workshop integration makes it easier than ever to enhance your gameplay with mods. Now, you can download and install them directly within the game, ditching the hassle of third-party platforms. This feature's success hinges on mod creators sharing their work on Steam Workshop. Currently, a few mods are available, including:

  • Free Saving: This mod ensures you never run out of "Saviour Schnapps" by replenishing it whenever it's used or lost, giving you unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs to your arsenal.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up restricted story locations for exploration.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your trusty steed into a zebra with a striking visual effect.

While the selection is currently modest, the vibrant modding community is poised to grow rapidly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, it’s likely many will soon find their way to Steam Workshop as well. Though it may not match Nexus Mods in scale, popular mods are expected to surface there soon.

The new barber shop system adds a fun twist to character customization. Visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to choose from a variety of hairstyles and beard designs. No matter your choice, a visit to the barber will temporarily boost your protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a strategic element to your grooming decisions.

Update 1.2 doesn’t stop there. The extensive changelog on the game’s official website lists over a thousand fixes and improvements touching almost every aspect of the game. From balancing adjustments to refined animations and better NPC behavior, the update is comprehensive. The crime system, for example, has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Other notable updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic and immersive.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and a more robust horse trading system.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the game's largest city, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes in more detail during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to the game’s development, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the introduction of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an even richer medieval experience.
