This prestigious event, celebrating gaming excellence since 1983, returns on November 21st, 2024, for its 42nd edition, showcasing games released between November 11th, 2023, and October 4th, 2024. This year's nominations highlight the significant contributions of smaller studios, with titles like Balatro and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes receiving multiple nods.

GOTY Controversy:
While fan voting is currently underway, the absence of several anticipated titles from the Game of the Year (GOTY) shortlist has sparked considerable online debate. Notable omissions include Metaphor: ReFantazio, Space Marine 2, and Black Myth: Wukong, leading to accusations of bias from some fans. The Golden Joystick Awards have responded by clarifying that the Ultimate Game of the Year (UGOTY) nominees are yet to be announced, suggesting these titles may still feature in the ultimate award.
The voting period runs from November 4th to 8th, 2024, with a separate voting period for the UGOTY category. A free ebook is offered as an incentive for participation.
The Golden Joystick Awards 2024 promises a captivating conclusion, though the current GOTY debate adds an extra layer of intrigue to the proceedings.
