It seems we can forget about explicit sex scenes in inZOI
The developers of the upcoming life simulation game, inZOI, recently addressed fan inquiries regarding the game's depiction of intimate relationships. When questioned about the inclusion of sexual content, the assistant director provided an ambiguous response, avoiding explicit terminology, leaving players uncertain about the specifics.
Essentially, the implication is that intimate interactions occur; if male and female ZOIs retire to bed together, procreation is implied – however, the visual representation is left to the player's interpretation. The developer's statement suggests that intimacy is present, but perhaps not to the extent many anticipated.
Consequently, the level of censorship remains unclear. It's uncertain whether inZOI will employ similar methods to The Sims series or introduce a novel approach.
The developers also explained the decision to depict ZOIs showering in towels instead of using pixelated censorship. They argued that this approach is more suitable for the game's cartoonish art style, as pixelation in a realistic style can appear overly sexualized. Furthermore, a technical issue with pixelation in reflections contributed to this decision.
The game's ratings provide further insight: an ESRB rating of T (Teen) and an anticipated PEGI 12 rating align with The Sims 4, suggesting a similar level of content.
