The Thing with Feathers Review

Author : Logan Mar 03,2025

This review is based on a screening at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The film, while visually stunning, ultimately falls short of its ambitious premise. The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing the stark beauty of the Icelandic landscape with a masterful hand. However, the narrative, while intriguing at first, becomes increasingly convoluted and loses its way in a labyrinth of symbolism. The performances are uneven, with some actors delivering compelling portrayals while others seem lost in the film's meandering plot. The score, however, is a highlight, perfectly complementing the film's visual grandeur and emotional undercurrents. While not a complete failure, the film ultimately leaves the viewer with a sense of unfulfilled potential.
