Dredge Mobile Port Delayed to Next Year; Closed Beta in December
If you were eagerly awaiting to explore the waters of Greater Marrow in Black Salt Games' Lovecraftian-inspired fishing horror, we have some disappointing news: Dredge's much-anticipated mobile port has been delayed until February 2025. However, there's a silver lining as Black Salt has announced open sign-ups for a new closed beta to accompany this delay.
For those unfamiliar with Dredge, you step into the shoes of a fisherman in the town of Greater Marrow. The job starts simply enough, with you fishing fresh catch to sell to the townsfolk. But as you delve deeper, you'll encounter weirder creatures from the ocean depths, mysterious beings, and all manner of monstrous weirdness. There's also the looming threat of losing your mind and strange happenings on a mysterious nearby island...
You can sign up for the new closed mobile beta of Dredge using this Google form. Despite the delay, the numerous awards, critical accolades, and more that Dredge has received indicate that this is a release well worth the wait, especially if you haven't yet had the chance to play it.
Having played Dredge on PC myself, I understand that such delays are not uncommon. Translating this expansive world to mobile is a significant undertaking. But if the mobile version mirrors the main release, there will be plenty of content to explore. The decision to conduct another closed beta is also a wise move, as it allows more players to provide feedback and experience this captivating blend of horror and fishing.
