While Halloween may be over, the *Diablo 4* Season 7 witching season is just beginning! This guide provides a comprehensive progression path to help you quickly level up.

Get Your Pet

Upon starting *Diablo 4* Season 7, immediately visit the nearest town's Wardrobe to acquire your pet. While combat-ineffective, pets collect gold and materials, significantly reducing downtime and allowing you to focus on combat and loot.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, recruit mercenaries from the Den. Solo players can utilize two mercenaries, easing leveling and combat while building Rapport for additional rewards.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the Season 7 questline (marked by green leaf icons). This introduces new mechanics like Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and Witch powers. While not excessively long (though including some puzzles), it’s the most efficient path to level 60. Focus on farming Headhunt zone bosses, collecting Favors, and upgrading Witch powers.

Unlock Your Class Power

Previously completed class-specific priority quests are now transferable between characters. Log in with a pre-existing character (on the Eternal realm) who has completed these quests, then log in with your new Season 7 character to automatically unlock your class power upon reaching the required level.

Headhunt Zones

While in Headhunt zones, actively complete Whispers. Prioritize smaller zones for higher enemy density and faster mob farming. Prioritize these Whisper quests: Fugitive Shepherd (escorting animals) and Fugitive (recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots). Exchange 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers (or with the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone).

Witchcraft Powers

Purchase and upgrade Witchcraft powers at the Tree of Whispers using Restless Rot (obtained by killing Rot enemies). Prioritize damage upgrades. Some powers require interacting with Forgotten Altars (found in dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty, or with increased chance via a Draught of Whispers).

Rootholds

Rootholds (accessed using Whispering Woods obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests) offer a rogue-lite experience similar to Infernal Hordes, with adjustable negative modifiers impacting loot quality. Open Exposed Roots for loot. Save Roothold keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.

Occult Gems

Craft Occult Gems (superior to regular gems) with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers using Restless Rot and Heads (dropped by Roothold bosses and Fugitives; Draughts of Whispers increase Head drop chance). Focus on these later in the game.

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Continue incorporating Pits (for Glyph leveling) and Nightmare Dungeons (for Glyphs) into your routine. Farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance Uniques.
