Netflix's highly anticipated Devil May Cry anime finally has a release date: April 3rd! The series, a collaboration between Castlevania showrunner Adi Shankar and Studio Mir (the studio behind The Legend of Korra), made the announcement via a new teaser on X, set to the appropriately headbanging tunes of Limp Bizkit.

First announced in 2018, the Devil May Cry anime is confirmed for an eight-episode first season. Studio Mir's impressive animation pedigree, evident in shows like The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97, promises a visually stunning adaptation.

Plot details remain shrouded in mystery, but the teaser suggests a focus on Dante, seemingly from the era of the first three Devil May Cry games, rather than Devil May Cry 5. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices Nero in the video game franchise.

The last mainline Devil May Cry game, Devil May Cry 5, launched in 2019, marking a triumphant return for the series after a period of relative quiet following 2013's DmC: Devil May Cry. A critically acclaimed action title, Devil May Cry 5 is a must-play, especially if you've recently enjoyed titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2. Read our full review here.
