"Conquer Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds: Capture Guide"
Facing the formidable Nerscylla in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be a daunting task, especially if you're among those who find spiders particularly unnerving. Not only is Nerscylla a source of high-affinity weapons, but it's also a creature that might haunt your dreams after watching the *Monster Hunter* film. Let's dive into how to effectively take down this giant, spiky spider.
How to Beat Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds
Nerscylla is known for its agility and terrifying arsenal of attacks. It's weak to Fire and Thunder (especially when its mantle is broken), but it resists Sleep and is immune to Sonic Bombs. Its web-slinging capabilities allow it to ensnare you, poison you with its bite, and even put you to sleep with its rear stinger. To combat this, ensure you have antidotes for poison and a way to counteract sleep effects.
Nerscylla's attacks can be categorized into two main types: bite/pincer attacks and web attacks. The bite attack is signaled by the spider rearing back with its orange fangs protruding, followed by a forward charge and a slam. This not only poisons you but also inflicts heavy damage. The best strategy is to maneuver behind Nerscylla or swiftly retreat.
For web attacks, Nerscylla can shoot webs directly at you or in a spread pattern. Being hit by these will immobilize you, but you can dodge them effectively. Additionally, it can perform a horizontal web charge that requires you to either block or dodge sideways, and a vertical web swing that you can avoid by moving laterally.
How to Capture Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing Nerscylla requires preparation and precision. Equip yourself with a Pitfall Trap, a Shock Trap, and at least two Tranq Bombs. While you only need one trap and two bombs, having extras can save you if things don't go as planned.
Engage Nerscylla in battle until it's nearly defeated. You'll know it's close to being captured when it starts limping, your NPC teammates comment on its weakened state, or a small skull icon appears next to its symbol on the mini-map. At this point, set up your trap, lure Nerscylla into it, and throw your Tranq Bombs to secure your capture.
