Confirmed: Marvel Rivals will be getting 2 heroes every 3 months

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and exciting with regular updates. The development team plans to release updates approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures a constant stream of new content to entice players back to the game.

Game director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview that each season's update is divided into two phases. The first half introduces one hero, while the second half introduces another.

This approach maintains player engagement. Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also feature updates including new maps, storylines, and objectives. Previously announced characters include Blade (currently unavailable) and Ultron (revealed through leaks), with the Fantastic Four's full team also recently confirmed.

According to Chinese gaming news outlet GameLook, the game has generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion originating from the Chinese market. This marks a significant foray into the gaming world for Marvel, a powerhouse in the film industry.

Marvel Rivals successfully filled a void in the hero-shooter genre, following the less-than-stellar reception of Square Enix's Avengers game. NetEase delivered a high-quality heroic shooter boasting a compelling roster of characters, earning positive reviews upon its initial release.
