Short Circuit Studio has just rolled out an exciting new update for their recently launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Dubbed "Shadows and Fortune," this update perfectly complements the game's darker, pixel-art aesthetic by introducing a host of new mechanics that deepen the gameplay experience.

Even though TownsFolk is fresh on the scene, the developers are not holding back on enriching the game. The "Shadows and Fortune" update brings new buildings and challenges that will keep players engaged. You'll need to be on your toes with the introduction of roaming Barbarians, adding a thrilling layer of tension to both campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Additionally, eight new structures are being added: the Altar, the Town Square, the Blacksmith, the Aqueduct, the Bank, the Granary, the Factory, and the Terraformer, each offering unique functionalities to enhance your settlement.

The aquatic elements of the game are also getting an upgrade with the addition of the rare Whale in the water tiles, adding a new dimension to exploration. Special Locations like ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks will further spice up the unpredictability of your adventures.

To help you navigate through all these new additions, a handy Compendium will serve as an in-game encyclopedia, keeping you informed about everything you need to know. The Exploration System has been revamped, and you can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes to suit your play style.
