Techland Expands Dying Light 2 with Free Tower Raid Roguelite Mode
Techland's Dying Light 2 continues to evolve with the addition of Tower Raid, a thrilling new roguelite-inspired game mode offering unpredictable challenges and high-stakes survival. Following extensive testing, this highly anticipated mode is now live, providing a completely fresh perspective on the infected world.
Forget Aiden Caldwell; in Tower Raid, you choose from four distinct warrior classes—Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist—each with unique abilities encouraging diverse playstyles and strategic teamwork. For those seeking the ultimate test, Tower Raid allows solo play or smaller team sizes.
The mode offers three difficulty levels—Quick, Normal, and Elite—affecting run intensity and length. Each Tower Raid session is procedurally generated, ensuring a unique experience every time. Adaptability is crucial as floor layouts and enemy encounters change constantly.
To maintain a consistently engaging challenge, a new progression system rewards persistence. Every failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, steadily increasing your chances of success. At the tower's heart, players can encounter Sola, a mysterious merchant offering rare rewards such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those who prove their skill.
While Techland prepares for the launch of Dying Light: The Beast, their commitment to Dying Light 2 continues throughout 2025. Future updates include improved co-op, refined matchmaking, enhanced community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee and ranged weapons, a brand-new weapon class, prologue enhancements, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
