Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest

During Sony's February 2025 State of Play, it was announced that Splitgate 2's Open Alpha Playtest is scheduled to run from February 27th to March 3rd, 2025. In contrast to the previous year's PC-exclusive Closed Alpha, this Open Alpha will be accessible on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Registration was not required; all players were welcome to join. The playtest, as detailed in the game’s press release, included new maps, weapons, game modes, and an innovative 8v8v8 multiplayer experience.

Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Playtest

Splitgate 2’s Closed Alpha Playtest concluded on August 25, 2024. The testing period began on August 21st of the same year and was available to invited participants and players who secured Alpha keys. Keys could be obtained by clicking the "Request Access" button on the game’s Steam page or by watching designated Twitch streamers for two hours (via Twitch Drops).

Although the initial Alpha was limited to PC, the developers have confirmed that the next Alpha playtest in 2025 will expand to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
