What Recursive Destruction Is in Marvel Rivals & How To Trigger It in Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Marvel Rivals Season 1 explodes onto the scene with new characters, maps, and modes, plus a fresh set of challenges unlocking free rewards, including a Thor skin! This guide focuses on triggering Recursive Destruction in Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown.
What is Recursive Destruction in Marvel Rivals?
The first "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" challenge requires triggering Recursive Destruction, a unique mechanic in this hero shooter. It involves destroying Dracula-influenced objects that then reappear in their original form. Don't just start blasting everything; focus on specific targets.
To identify these objects, use Chrono Vision (accessed via the "B" button on keyboard or the right D-pad button on console). Only objects highlighted in red trigger Recursive Destruction.

This challenge requires playing Quick Match (Midtown). After loading in, focus on the initial team objective (defending or attacking the Fantasticar). While Chrono Vision can be used at the start, initially no red-highlighted targets will appear. You must wait for the first checkpoint; two buildings capable of triggering Recursive Destruction will then spawn.
Amidst the combat, target these buildings. You might not always see them reappear immediately due to the fast-paced action, but hitting them several times should complete the challenge. If you don't trigger Recursive Destruction three times in one match, simply replay. Once completed, move on to the next challenges featuring Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
That's how to trigger Recursive Destruction in Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
