Marvel Snap: Optimal Redwing Decks Mastered
Marvel Snap's menagerie receives a feathered addition with the Brave New World season: Redwing, Falcon's loyal companion. This 3-cost, 4-power card boasts a unique ability: the first time it's moved, it adds a card from your hand to its previous location.
Redwing's Limitations:
Redwing's single-use ability restricts its strategic flexibility. Attempts to reactivate it via cards like Symbiote Spider-Man are futile. Precise card targeting is also challenging; move decks often utilize low-power cards that are undesirable targets, while Scream strategies typically manipulate opponent's cards.
Potential Synergies:
Despite these limitations, budget-friendly move cards like Madame Web or Cloak offer activation options for lower Collection Level players. Redwing's potential for game-changing plays exists, particularly by deploying a powerful card like Galactus early or drawing a high-value card such as The Infinaut.
Deck Integrations:
Redwing finds a niche in specific high-cost decks:
-
Ares/Surtur Scream Deck: This deck, featuring cards like Aero and Heimdall, leverages Redwing to enhance Surtur's power by moving it to Heimdall's location, pulling a high-power card from your hand. However, this deck prioritizes Surtur on turn 3, limiting Redwing's use. Note the high cost of this deck, requiring several Series 5 cards.
-
Madame Web Ongoing Deck: This deck focuses on Doom 2099 and utilizes Madame Web's ability to manipulate card placement. Redwing provides an additional method to move cards and draw a card from your hand. However, this deck's primary win condition doesn't heavily rely on Redwing.
Value Assessment:
Currently, Redwing's underwhelming power and limited synergy within underperforming archetypes make it a poor investment of Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector's Tokens. Unless Second Dinner significantly buffs Redwing, saving resources for other cards is recommended.
