Krysten Ritter Returns as Jessica Jones in Daredevil S2

The Marvel universe just got more exciting as Krysten Ritter officially reprises her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Today's Disney Upfront presentation in New York delivered the thrilling confirmation that had fans buzzing with anticipation.
From Netflix to Disney+: Jessica Jones' MCU Debut
Following months of swirling rumors, Ritter joined her former Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage to celebrate the news. The actress couldn't contain her enthusiasm about bringing back the beloved hard-drinking private eye.
"Returning to Jessica after all these years feels incredible," Ritter shared with the crowd. "Three seasons on Netflix, The Defenders, and now stepping into the MCU - this character keeps evolving in exciting ways. Without spoiling anything, I promise fans won't be disappointed with what's coming."
From Cancellation to Comeback
Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life in 2015's Netflix series, continuing through two additional seasons and The Defenders crossover. When Netflix phased out its Marvel content in 2019, many assumed we'd seen the last of Ritter's gritty portrayal.
The landscape changed dramatically in 2021 when Disney reclaimed the rights to several Marvel characters. Following Cox's MCU return through Spider-Man: No Way Home and Daredevil: Born Again, speculation grew about other Defenders joining the fray. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher already making waves in Season 1, Ritter's participation in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.
While details remain under wraps, Ritter's appearance suggests Jessica Jones might have an ongoing role in the MCU beyond this series. Disney currently targets a March 2026 premiere for Season 2, according to showrunner Dario Scardapane.
